Education

Education is necessary for a person to progress in life. The education of our children should be a huge priority, because the children are this nation's future. Teachers need to be paid more, schools need more funding, and educational opportunities should be freely available to everyone.

This doesn't end with High School. If we want to succeed and progress as a nation we need a citizenry of educated people. So many other countries all over the world give their citizens access to publicly funded higher education and we need to step up and do the same. Compare the benefits used by uneducated minimum wage workers over just 10 years to the costs of just an associates degree at a state college, not only would we save money over time but we'd have more opportunity available for more people. Publicly funded education is good for the economy, good for jobs, reduces the burden of public assistance, and is a win win for everyone.

For too long our country has been behind the curve on education, while the rest of the developed world progresses our politicians bicker and our youth and future generations pay the price. I want to know that my children and all of our children will have higher education available to them in the future and as a member of congress I will make sure to make that happen.
