Abortions and Women's Rights

Let me go ahead and get this across first- I personally am against abortion in medically unnecessary cases. BUT, that does not make it my right or anyone else's right to make that decision for another person. I 100% support a woman's right to choose, and understand fully how hard a decision that can be.

To those against abortions, I ask you this: Has abortion being banned ever made abortion not happen? If you truly want to reduce abortions, as I would like to, then you need to not attack a woman's rights but rather attack the causes. Sexual education, birth control and contraceptives need to be encouraged and readily available. There would be significantly less abortions if we simply made preventing those unwanted pregnancies easier. Give away free condoms in high school, fund planned parenthood and women's health programs to provide affordable birth control options, encourage sex education programs in schools. These are the steps to end the problem, not legislation of women's medical rights or defunding of women's healthcare programs.
